Exploring and sightseeing
around Kathmandu valley can be one of the exotic scenic
and pleasant experience of Nepal that can be organized throughout
the year. The area lies in a transition zone between subtropical
and temperate climate that is harboring the wild animals
like sloth bear, leopard, barking deer, wild boar, common
langur-the white monkey and wide variety of birds. The heart
alluring panoramic views of Himalayas like Mt. Everest (8848m),
Manaslu Himal (8163m), Cho Oyu Himal(8153m), Gauri-Shankar
Himal(7145m), Bauddha Himal(6672m), Langtang Lirung(7246m),
Dorje Lakpa(6990m), Ganesh Himal(7249m), Purbi Chyachu etc
and meandering river valleys to the north east and bowl
shaped populated valley to the south west add the more attraction
in the natural beauty.
Shivapuri Watershed and
Wildlife Reserve area is one of the main sources of drinking
water for densely populated Kathmandu that was previously
the main source of fuel-wood. Due to the easy access, comfortable,
pleasant and short duration trip with unique views, many
foreign and domestic tourists do this trek.
No prior hiking experience is needed for this
trek because the trails are wide, mostly motorable, very
close to the Kathmandu City and the highest point of the
trek is 2732m only. We also save the time for Pokhara (the
Lakeside City with magnificent view of Fishtail Mountain,
Annapurna and Dhaulagiri) and Chitwan listed in Wo''''''''
rld Heritage Site (the famous National Park of Nepal for

NAGARKOT (2175m)
It is a popular tourist resort of Nepal that lies 32km north
east of Kathmandu. Many years ago, it was a picnic spot
of Kathmandu valley people. The panoramic view of the mountain
from Khumbu to Manaslu Himalayan range can be seen from
there.
FULCHOKI (2765m)
It lies 20km far south from Patan just above Gadabari that
is the highest ridge around Kathmandu valley. The place
is famous for bird watching because over 250 species of
birds are found there. There are many different types of
animals like barking deer, leopard, bear and other animals.
It can be seen the beautiful Kathmandu valley to the north
and Terai region to the south from there. It snows there
in the winter but doesn't last for long.
KAKANI (1982m)
It lies 29km north west of Kathmandu that is also a popular
picnic spot of the valley people. The best view of Ganesh
Himal and Langtang Lirung is seen from there. The panoramic
view of Himalayan massif from Rolwaling/ Gaurishanker to
Annapurna Himalayan range can be easily seen in the clear
day. Generally the trek starts for Nagarkot, Shivpuri, Sundarijal
and Dhulikhel from here.
Kakani is the Tamang village which can be
the good place to study the Tamang culture not going far
from Kathmandu.
POKHARA (819m)
This is very nice lakeside valley of Nepal where is situated
the Fewa Lake, Begnas Lake, Rupa Lake etc. Machhapuchhre
Himal is 28km north of Fewa Lake. The reflection of Machhapuchhre
Himal in the level of Fewa Lake looks really beautiful and
attractive. The lakeside city is surrounded by the Manaslu,
Annapurna Himalayan range, Nilgiri, Machhapuchhre, Lamjung
Himal and Dhaulagiri Himalayan range from east, north and
west side and lesser Himalayan range from south side. It
is the only one place in the world from where it can be
seen the Himalayas very closely having a cold drink in the
low land city. A Japanese monk-Ekai Kawaguchi came to Nepal
in 1900AD, he was the 1st trekker visited Pokhara. There
are many side places and things to see in and around Pokhara
valley. This is one of the scenic, popular and important
tourist destinations of Nepal.
ROYAL CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK
This is very popular National Park of Nepal for the tourists.
It lies in subtropical rain forest where are over 400 species
of birds and many different types of animals like one horned
rhino, elephant and Bengal tiger, leopard, sambar, barking
deer, bison, Gangetic Dolphin, gaur and blue bull etc and
endangered reptiles like Gharial, crocodile and golden monitor
lizard. There are many different types of facilities available
to be provided to the trekkers like elephant riding, chasing
the Bengal tiger riding on the back of elephant, canoeing,
elephant breeding center, communication, transportation,
swimming pool, hotels and resorts etc. This National Park
is completely developed Eco-friendly that is only 5 to 6
hours drive from Kathmandu but it is also linked by the
airway service.
Detailed itinerary
Day 01 : Arrive Kathmandu (1310m).
Day 02 : Arrange everything in Kathmandu for field.
Day 03 : Drive to Kakani and hike up to Shivapuri
Lekh(2732m)
Day 04 : Shivapuri to Chisapani
Day 05 : Chisapani to Nagarkot
Day 06 : Drive to Dhulikhel then to Kathmandu
Day 07 : Drive or fly to Pokhara(819m)
Day 08 : Explore the city of excellent
views of the Himalayas like Fishtail Mountain(6993m), Annapurna
I(8091m), Nilgiri Hills, Lamjung Himal and Mt. Dhaulagiri(8167m).
The excellent reflection of the Fishtal Mountain on the
level of Fewa Lake is really attractive. Rowing the boats
on Fewa Lake, sunrise scene, unique mountain views, monasteries,
Tibetan refugee camp, Gurung village tour and interesting
many side trips are the additional attraction of the city.
Day 09 : Drive to Chitwan (150m)
Day 10 : Enjoy with nature and Tharu
culture. Chase the elusive Bengal tiger riding on the elephant,
jeep safari, jungle walk, watch the elephant breeding center,
explore the Tharu culture, enjoy and dance with them.
Day 11 : Drive to Daman(2400m), scenic
views along the road.
Day 12 : Drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 13 : Sightseeing and shopping in Kathmandu.
Day 14 : Fly back home.
