Gurung Village
Short but the brave Gurung people are mostly inhabited in
the mid-mountain of Nepal. They have their own tradition,
culture, language and life-style. Nowadays, the males are
mostly involved in military force named "British Gurkhas"
and females in hotel business along the trekking routes
around Annapurna. They are honest and good hospitable people.
Ghale Gaon, Lamjung
Among many Gurung villages in and around Annapurna region,
Ghale gaon is the unique model place for exploring the typical
Gurung culture, tradition, wearing, language and inherent
specialty with the spectacular view of the Himalayas like
Manaslu, Hiuchuli, Lamjung Himal, Annapurna, Fishtail and
Nilgiri Hills, and meandering glacial and river valleys.
It is just a day hike from Besishahar, the starting point
of Annapurna Circuit Trek. There are many opportunities
like the Annapurna Circuit Trek, Manaslu Trek, Sikles Trek,
Pokhara, river rafting on Trisuli River, Marsyangdi River,
Narayani River, and jungle adventure. Going to the village
through cultivated fields and mix-cultured community provides
the new experience.
Bhujung village in Lamjung, Siruwadi village
in Syanja, Sikles village in the south face of Annapurna
range, Nache and Tilje village in Manang are the popular
Gurung villages for typical Gurung culture.
Detailed itinerary
Day 01 : Arrive Kathmandu (1310m).
Day 02 : Mountain flight before noon
that is the Himalayan adventure with scenic views of the
Himalayas very closely then arrange everything for the trek.
Day 03 : Drive to Besishahar(785m).
Day 04 : Hike to Ghalegaon, very pleasant
way with photogenic views.
Day 05-06 : Explore the area and Gurung
culture. Enjoy with Gurung culture show. There is an option
to go to Pokhara via Begnas Lake.
Day 07 : Hike back to Khudi, take time
for River rafting on Marsyangdi River or continue to Besishahar.
There is an option to go to Annapurna or Manaslu trek from
here.
Day 08 : Drive to Pokhara, a lakeside
city. There is an another opportunity to experience the
typical Newari culture in the village of Bandipur, that
is short drive from Dumre. Bandipur village is so popular
in typical Newari culture, sweet oranges and the beautiful
landscape.
Day 09 : Explore the unique nature
in Pokhara.
Day 10 : Drive to Chitwan.
Day 11 : Enjoy with nature and Tharu
culture. Chase the elusive Bengal tiger riding on the elephant,
jeep safari, jungle walk, watch the elephant breeding center,
explore the Tharu culture, enjoy and dance with them.
Day 12 : Drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 13 : Sightseeing and shopping in
Kathmandu. Day14 Fly back home.
