Teej Festival This is the only one festival
of Nepal which is only celebrated by the women for their
successful and prosperous life. Married women celebrate
the festival for their husbands' long life & prosperity
and unmarried girls to find their good husbands. The first
day of the festival, they eat nothing including water and
the next morning after praying they have lunch.
According
to the day of fortnight, sometimes they have to fasten for
2 days continuously and sometimes the 1st and 3rd day of
the festival is to fasten. They go to the Lord Shiv's temples
or shrines or any particular places to perform the pooja
/ worship then they sing and dance all day. Well dressed
up in red colored clothing like sari, blouse, full wrist
bangles, ornaments, the women look so beautiful and their
singing and dancing ceremony is very interesting. This is
the Wish Making Day of the Women which is celebrated for
about 3 days. It lies in August and September. Specially
the festival is only 3 days however it is celebrated for
about a week in certain society.
Simpani village, Khudi
The festival is celebrated all over the country but Simpani
village in Lamjung district is the model village for the
festival. The village lies in the world popular trekking
route of Annapurna Circuit.

Day 01 : Arrive Kathmandu (1310m).
Day 02 : Get ready for the field
Day 03 : Drive to Besishahar then hike to Khudi
Day 04-06 : Explore and enjoy the Teej
festival. Hike to Ghale Gaun for great views of the Annapurna
and Manaslu Himalayan ranges if the weather is clear, otherwise
walk around Khudi, Simpani, Tarappu villages
Day 07 : Drive to Pokhara to explore
the world famous and heart alluring beautiful valley.
Day 08 : Explore the valley
Day 09 : Drive/fly back to Kathmandu
Day 10 : Sightseeing and shopping in Kathmandu.
Day 11 : Fly back home.
