lush green valleys to remote traditional villages
to rugged snow-capped peaks, the Himalayas offer an
endless variety of scenery. In this largely road-less
land, walking and flying are the only ways to experience
the remote landscapes and cultures, and we offer a
variety of organized mountain treks to help you do
just that. Though the traditional trekking seasons
are spring and fall, fantastic trekking is actually
available throughout the year. We encourage our guests
to consider summer and winter trips as well. Listed
below are our standard treks. If you do not see right
thing, ask us ! We can arrange the trip you want.
In recent years Nepal has experienced
political problems from Maoist rebels, which has been
cause for concern with some visitors. Fortunately
we have years of experience working with tourists
and scientists in Maoist-affected areas, and can assure
our guests that we have the knowledge and ability
to deal successfully with both Maoists and security
personnel.

| SUMMER TREKS |
|
|
While the southern side of the Himalayas
are drenched in summer monsoon rains, the rain-shadow
valleys to the north of the highest peaks receive
just enough rain to become green mountain havens.
July and August are ideal months to visit these
regions to see the usually-arid landscape in bloom
while sharing the scenes with very few other tourists.
There will be some rain, but most days the skies
are clear and the temperature is very comfortable.
These treks can also be done in the spring and fall.

WINTER TREKS
In the foothills and lowlands of Nepal, winter
can be the most pleasant season - the high
temperatures that usually come with a sub-tropic latitude
are absent and the air can be very clear. If you wish to explore
these areas without abundant insects, other tourists, and
sweat, by all means come during the winter. The treks list
