Earth's Paradise Treks & Expeditions
Overview

Lying northernmost flank, Kimathanka is a beautiful traditional village in Arun valley between Makalu and Kanchenjungha Himalaya from where Phung Chu, the Arun River enters Nepal. Hedangnagadhi is the borderline of restricted area, Makalu Barun National Park and Buffer Zone Area. The Sherpa residing here are called Bhotia (Singaba) and the valley is called Bhot Khola valley. Kimathanka was the trade centre between Nepal and Tibet in 18th century. Nepali and Tibetan locals here still exchange medicinal plants, timber, animals and food stuffs as a barter system.

Arun valley is rich in biodiversity and cultural diversity and famous for bird watching, cardamom farming, medicinal plants, traditional village settlements, ancient culture and typical lifestyle of Kiranti and Singaba Bhotia tribes, meandering Arun River and its beautiful tributaries, Tumlingtar-the deepest valley in the world, wonderful landscape and Makalu Chamlang Himalaya. Hot spring in Hatiya, Popti Bhanjyang (4600m), Hedangna Gadhi and building architecture are additional attractions of the trip. This is the newest exciting area for the trekkers where we experience true typical culture. People who are ok with homestay or super basic teahouse can make the trip that way but the people who need better service and if the group is bigger then camping trip is the option. Due to residing Bhotia tribe in upper Arun valley, the Arun valley trek is also known as Bhot Khola trek and also the Hatia Kimathanka trek in the name of the places of Hidden valley.
