Overview

Lying in the lap of sacred mountain Gauri Shankar Himal; also called Rolwaling Himal, Tsho Rolpa; one of the biggest glacial Lakes in Nepal is really beautiful with delightful view of Royal Holy Mountain Gaurishankar, Langtang Himal ranges and Everest Himal ranges. The lake has increased obviously over decades due to glacial melting in the Gauri Shankar Himalaya range and it may burst any time through its unstable dam, and the villagers residing along Tamakoshi River fed by this lake have life threatening challenge. Many earth scientists have focused their research studies here and number of trekkers is also increasing year by year.

Package Itineary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1310m), transfer to hotel

Arrive Kathmandu, transfer to hotel, visit medieval era interesting monumental royal court Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swoyambhunath stupa complex in the afternoon. dinner and overnight.

 

Day 02-03: Drive to Chechet (1525m), hike to Simigaon (2090m), camp started
 

After breakfast, drive to Dolakha Sigatte and Chechet through towns, traditional villages, river valleys, farmlands and hills. It is a scenic drive with great view of magical landscape and beautiful settlements. We follow Tama Koshi River valley by dirt road and often see beautiful view of the sacred mountain Gaurishankar (7145m). Depending on time and interest, we spend a night after Dolakha bazar or somewhere else. We will have Hindu and Buddhist culture experience on the way. After getting off the private vehicle (jeeps and bus) at the end of the road, we meet the local crew there then a short hike up to Simigaon; beautiful village of Sherpa & Tamang tribes marked by its Tibetan monastery, perched above the houses on top of the hill in front of the Gauri Shankar Himal. Dinner and overnight at our camp.


Day 04: Hike to Donga (2800m)
Today, we enter the Rollwalling valley through rhododendron & bamboo forest. We walk towards Gyalche then drop down to Donga, Rolwaling Khola.

 

Day 05: Hike to Beding (3690m)

Hike up to Bedding through tropical aline vegetation and enjoy the great view of Melungtse (7181m) lying in the Rolwaling range. Explore traditional village of Sherpas, their culture and lifestyle. Visit an old monastery there. We camp at Rolwaling Khola bank.


Day 06: Hike to Na (4185m)
Hike up to alpine summer camp Nagaon situated in a beautiful valley overlooked by by some exciting peaks like Chobutse (6685m), Chugimago (6259m). Yalung Ri 5630 Mt. Today we are just below the Tsho Rolpa Glacial Lake.

 

Day 07: Acclimatization day
Day trip to Yalung La pass for the best view of the lake, glacier, Ramdung Peak (5930m) and Yalung Ri (5630m),

 

Day 08: Na-Tsho Rolpa Lake (4580m)

After breakfast, hike up to the most beautiful and ultimate destination Tsho Rolpa Lake, explore it. 

 

Day 09-10: Nagaon-Gongar Khola

Hike back down to Gongar Khola. If you are interested and have time, you can continue Rolwaling trek from Tsho Rolpa Lake.

 

Day 11-12: Drive back to Kathmandu, hotel

After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu on the same way. We spend a night on the way in camp (last camp). Arrive Kathmandu, check in hotel, dinner and overnight.

 

Day 13: Cultural heritage site tour in Kathmandu valley, hotel

Drive to Gaushala, visit one of the most interesting cultural heritage sites- Lord Pashupatinath area where you see many devotees of Lord Shiv around the main temple, hundreds of lingums representing lord Shiv and goddess Parvati, cremations aong the holy Bagmati river, many temples, colorful Babas; the spiritual teacher and Hindu sage strong devoteed of Lord Shiv, red monkeys and many more interesting things. Then drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square to experience the true Newari culture and lifestyle, medieval traditional monuments with exotic architecture then visit Changunarayan temple and traditional village located in the ridgeline. We will have farewell dinner party with traditional Nepali culture program at a Nepali restaurant.

 

Day 14: Fly back home or open for next program

After breakfast, program is over or plan for next trip or transfer to airport, fly back home.

Entire trip cost per person (USD):    $2399   // 1pax complimentary in every 11 paid guests in group

 

Trip cost includes:
All accommodation (twin sharing basis) & food; three meals a day -breakfast, lunch and dinner (except bar bill), insured crew (guide, porters, donkeys, dzopa, yaks and necessary kitchen crew for camping trek), all essential permits, all domestic transportation as per the itinerary, service charge and government taxes.

Trip cost does not include:
Personal expenses (like laundry, communication, alcohol, cold drinks and bottled water during trekking), gratuity to serving crew, emergency evacuation, international airfare, visa, your travel insurance and any kind of gifts and donation.

Payment system

  • 80% of total trip budget must be paid in advance (the amount should be appeared to our account just two weeks before the trips) for domestic transportation, permits, hotel bookings reconfirmation and essential preparations.
  • Balance can be paid before or during/after the trip.

Refund system
In case of trip cancellation in the last 10 days of group arrival, 50% of the deposited amount will be deducted. If the trip cancels 10 days before the group arrival, we settle the full amount in next trip.
