Overview

This is the classic tour of terai and mid hill region in west Nepal which gives you great experience on Buddhist and Hindu monuments, interesting culture, cultural events and typical lifestyle, traditional villages, wonderful landscape, terraced farmlands, rivers and intermountain valleys. You see typical lifestyle of Deukhuria Tharu tribal culture in Bhalubang valley, Magar tribal culture in western part of Pyuthan and Newari tribal culture in Tansen.

The area is in the southern lap of Sisne Himal and Dhaulagiri range where you see beautiful scenery of mountain sequence, majestic Himalayas, sunrise sunset and meandering river valleys. You visit several shrines and historical places  6th century BC ruined monuments of Shakya dynasty in Tilaurakot, interesting Sworgadwari shrines, many temples, historical places and wonderful landscapes in Pyuthan, wish making deity - the most powerful Goddess Supa Deurali and Argha Bhawati in Arghakhanchi, ancient culture history monument site - Ruru Kshetra in the junction of three districts Palpa, Syanja and Gulmi, several temples in Rudrabeni Gulmi, Rani Mahal- the Taj Mahal of Nepal in the bank of holy river Kaligandaki, interesting temples, traditional water fountains, traditional Dhaka cotton factory, handmade brass pottery and palace in Palpa, Siddhababa temple famous for traditional weddings in Tinau Khola and Lord Buddha’s birthplace Lumbini.

Package Itineary

Day 01: Arrive Lumbini (190m), hotel

Arrive Bhairahawa, after customs formality, meet the local assistant, drive to Lumbini, check in hotel, if time permits, visit World Peace Pagoda in the afternoon, dinner and overnight.

 

Day 02: Lumbini - 6th century BC ruined monuments in Tilaurakot - Dhungedadhi (865m), 120km, 5 hour, camp

After having breakfast, drive to Tilaurakot, explore 6th century BC ruined monuments of Shakya dynasty where Lord Budhha spent his first 29 years as a prince. Observe interesting ruined mud brick foundations and walls as well as family deity where you see dozens of elephants statues. You can visit culture history museum, Ram Temple, monkey god Hanuman statue nearby then drive to Bhalubang through farmlands, forests, settlements, Siwalik hills and intermountain valleys. Explore lifestyle of Tharu tribes then drive to Dhungegadhi along beautiful Rapti River valley. Dinner and overnight at camp. Our professional kitchen staff serve continental and Nepali fresh organic food prepared in our mobile kitchen.

 

Day 03: Dhungegadhi - Sworgadwari (1924m), 106km, 5 hour, explore shrines and rituals, camp

Have breakfast, drive to Sworgadwari through beautiful hills and hillocks, terraced farmlands, forests, meandering Madi valley, traditional villages and towns. You see typical lifestyle of locals working along the road side, farm fields, forests and in the villages. Arrive Sworgadwari ridge, have lunch, hike up to the shrines atop the hill, explore interesting rituals, prayers, holy bells, cow farms, cave in the afternoon. Return to the camp. Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 04: Sworgadwari - Jubang (1270m), 50km, 3 hour, Magar tribal culture, camp

After breakfast, drive back to Bhingri, follow Madi Lungri Khola valley towards Magar tribal territory. There are traditional big villages of Magar tribes far way up in the valley but just passing Sulichaur, we just drive up to Jubang. Have lunch then explore Magar tribal village, their classic culture and typical lifestyle. Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 05: Jubang - Pyuthan - Okharkot (1590m), 105km, 5 hour, monuments, camp

Breakfast, drive back to Chakchake on the same way, then drive to Okharkot through the headquarters of Pyuthan district. There are many interesting temples and historical places in Pyuthan on the way to the destination of the day. Have lunch on the way or late lunch in camp. Depending on time, you will visit them located in Pyuthan, Bhitrikot and Tusara. Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 06: Okharkot - Sandhikharka (970m), 70km, 4 hour, camp

Have breakfast, drive to Sandhikharka through beautiful valleys, farmlands, hills, traditional villages and towns. You see wonderful landscape, beautiful mountain sequence, temples, Indo Aryan classic culture, cultural events and typical lifestyle of the mountain people. Have lunch, explore lifestyle in Sandhikharka in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 07: Explore Supa Deurali, lifestyle and landscape, 50km, 2 hour, camp

After breakfast, drive to the most important temple of powerful goddess Supa Deurali. You see many pilgrims in the queue with of offerings to pay homage to the wish making goddess. After Supa Deurali, then visit Argha Bhagawati Temple Goats and roosters are sacrificed here. On the way to the temple and back, you see beautiful landscape, river valleys, traditional villages and typical lifestyle of mountain locals. Return to the camp, have lunch then visit Ganesh temple, colorful mango garden and town in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 08: Sandhikharka - Ridi (490m), 60km, 5 hour, camp

Have breakfast, drive to Ridi via Balkot Pauwa through beautiful hills, traditional villages, historical sites, towns and serpentine Ridi Khola valley. You see interesting classic culture, typical lifestyle of the locals, temples and mosques along the road side. Have lunch, visit several temples at the confluence of holy river Kaligandaki and Badigad in Tudrabeni in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 09: Ridi - Batase Danda (1420m), 70km, 4 hour, landscape and classic culture, camp

After breakfast, visit the most important Hindu shrines - several temples in Ridi and Rudrabeni by the confluence of holy river Kaligandaki and Ridi Khola. This place is also widely known as Ruru Kshetra which is very important Hindu shrine. Drive to Batase Danda, have lunch then drive to Rani Mahal- the Taj Mahal of Nepal, built by general Khadga Shmaser Rana in 1893 to present his wife, a token of love. It is located in the bank of holy Kaligandaki River which is about an hour drive from our camp in Tansen. Return to the camp, you see beautiful view of sunset and golden view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri from the camp if the weather permits. Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 10: Batase - Tansen - Lumbini (190m), 90km, 3 hour, shrines, Dhaka cotton and brass pottery, hotel

After breakfast, visit Tansen- a beautiful hill town where you see typical Newari tribal culture, age old artistic temples, traditional houses and water fountains, traditional Nepali Dhaka cotton factory and its cotton clothes, and handmade brass pottery. You can taste Nepal organic coffee here in the town. Drive to Lumbini through beautiful hills, intermountain valleys, Tinau Khola, traditional villages and towns. You can see traditional Nepali wedding ceremonies at Siddhababa Temple in Tinau Khola and in Butwal or other towns along the road. Depending on time you can have lunch in Tansen or Butwal. Drive to Lumbini, check in hotel, dinner and overnight.

 

Day 11: Explore Lord Buddha’s birthplace Lumbini, 6th century BC to present day monuments, hotel

The day is dedicated to explore Lord Buddha’s birthplace Lumbini. After breakfast, drive to the entrance of the Lumbini holy monuments. Walk to the gate of the Maya Devi temple complex, take off shoes/slippers then enter the site. There are dozens of interesting monuments around the white temple of Maya Devi. Enter the temple silently and observe the exact birthplace of Lord Buddha. Then observe pilgrims and 6th to 2nd century BC interesting monuments around the temple. After visiting Mustang monastery then exit the main temple complex.

Explore the monastery site where are dozens of artistic colorful monasteries built up by many Buddhists community around the world. Visit some sample monasteries like Gautami nunnery, Myanmar Golden Temple, Thai, Cambodian, Chinese and German monasteries. You can have light pack lunch there or late fresh in hotel. Return to hotel. Farewell dinner party, overnight.

 

Day 12: Program over, fly back home.

After breakfast, open for next program or transfer to the airport. Fly back home.

 

Detailed Trip Cost

Entire trip cost per person (USD):    $2,699  // 1pax complimentary in every 10 paid guests in group.

Trip cost includes: All accommodation (twin sharing basis) & food; three meals a day -breakfast, lunch and dinner (except bar bill), insured crew (guide, assistants, drivers and necessary kitchen crew), all essential permits, all domestic transportation as per the itinerary, service charge and government taxes.

Trip cost does not include: International airfare, Nepal visa, your travel insurance, personal expenses (like laundry, communication, alcohol, cold drinks), tips to serving crew, emergency evacuation, extra cost due to natural and political causes such as landslides, unrest, strikes etc, expenses of extra hotel & other services abandoning the trip before/after scheduled, and cost not mentioned in includes section.

 

Payment system

  • 80% of total trip budget must be paid in advance (the amount should be appeared to our account just two weeks before the trips) for domestic transportation, permits, hotel bookings reconfirmation and essential preparations.
  • Balance can be paid before or during/after the trip.

Refund system
In case of trip cancellation in the last 10 days of group arrival, 50% of the deposited amount will be deducted. If the trip cancels 10 days before the group arrival, we settle the full amount in next trip.
