Earth's Paradise Treks & Expeditions
Overview

Description
Lying on the northwest corner of Nepal, Limi is an isolated hidden beautiful valley of wonderful nature & classic culture. The longest river of Nepal, Humla Karnali enters Nepal border at Hilsa where the valley starts from west side. The Trans Himalayan Limi valley is very beautiful, photogenic, wide and wonderful. Mound Gyuokharka (5000m) and Lapche La (5125m) provide the wonderful view of Saipal (7031m), Byas Rishi, Api, Kanjirowa, Kanti, Gorakh Himal and Mt. Kailash and tranquil Mansarovar lake, dozens of mysterious mounds and meadows, meandering rivers and rivulets. This region is famous for rare Himalaya flora and fauna, unique nature & classic culture. This is the home to marmot, rabbit, pica, blue sheep, wolf, wild yak, wild horse (kyang), barking deer, musk deer, Himalayan black bear, snow leopard, griffin vulture, kite, raven, Himalayan monal, snow partridge, snow goose etc.

Tibetan cultured Bhote tribal people are settled there. Beautiful villages like Til, Haljee and Gombayok are located in the patches of Limi Khola. Local economy is based on livestock, potato and buckwheat farming, and occasionally the trade of livestock and Himalayan rare medicinal plants. Some people produce and sell the wooden pots like tea bowl, yogurt pot, jewelry box etc. Polyandry marriage system is still in practice there. Grazing cattle in the pasturelands adds more beauty in the valley.

Simikot is going to connect with road from Tibet side as well as Karnali corridor road. Now 1- 2 week trans-Himalaya jeep safari can be organized from Kermi to Lapche La via Limi valley and Kermi to Hilsa for those who have high altitude experience. Soon, we will organize jeep tour for the entire trip when Simikot is connected with Karnali corridor road.
