Overview

Lying north eastern flank of Nepal, Kanchenjungha (8586m) is the second highest peak in Nepal and third in the world that is very interesting mountain to visit and explore. One of the most scenic and unspoilt parts of Nepal, this region has exotic and particular speciality in Limbu tribal culture, religion, tradition and exotic nature. Rai Limbu people worship the nature, ancient Hindu gods and goddesses and as well as upper Tamor valley Bhotia monastic cultured people have own tradition. They have own particular language, culture and tradition. Exotic floral and faunal species, diverse nature and culture, crystal mountains, Himalayas and the glacial valleys add the beauty in nature. Extending from 1800m to 5150m, this trekking region gives great true experience of unique nature and classic culture. Tongba; the home made millet beer is quite popular in this region. Beautiful pyramid mountain Pathibhara close to Taplejung Funling bazaar is a holy mountain visited by many Hindu pilgrims and trekkers.

Package Itineary

(Average hike 5-7 hours a day)

 

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu (1310m), hotel

Arrive Kathmandu, transfer to hotel, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swoyambhunath stupa tour, return to hotel, dinner and overnight.

 

Day 02 : Fly to Suketar (2290m), camp

Fly to Suketar, Taplejung, explore beautiful vicinity of Taplejung, meet the supporting crew and overnight stay there.

 

Day 03: Hike to Lali Kharka (2200m), camp

Nowadays there several dirt roads towards the base of the Himalayan valleys. The ground seems scratched almost everywhere for road but they are not built up well. Depending on the situation of the road we may drive but we plan to hike on the way up. Hike to Lali Kharka through traditional villages and beautiful grasslands. Have lunch on the way. arrive the camp. Dinner and overnight in camp.

 

Day 04: Hike to Khesewa (2100m)

Hike to Kunjar through Pokhara village and beautiful farmlands, have lunch there then hike continue to Khesewa. We’ll have great experience of beautiful landscape, settlements, forests and exciting view of Mt. Kanchenjungha.

 

Day 05: Hike to Mamankhe (2000m)

Hike couple ups and downs through the Loppoding and Anpan villages, terraced fields and dense forest. We’ll have great trekking adventure with beautiful series of mountain views and river valleys. Camp in Mamankhe.

 

Day 06: Hike to Yampudin (1670m)

Hike along beautiful Kabeli Khola valley and stay in Yampudin village; the uppermost village valley.

 

Day 07: Hike to Lamite Bhanjyang (2900m)

Hike up to Dhupi Bhanjyang, drop down to Omje Khola and walk through beautiful forests and pastureland. Camp in Lamite Bhanjyang forest.

 

Day 08: Hike to Torontan (3050m)

Hike up to Deurali danda through dense forest and observe beautiful view of Mt Jannu then drop down to Simbha Khola. Hike continue to Torontan and camp there.

 

Day 09: Hike to Tseram (3770m)

Hike along Simbua Khola valley through pine and rhododendron forests. We have beautiful view of Yalung, Jannu and Rotong glacier, and majestic Kabru and Rathong in Singhalila range. We stay in Tseram.

 

Day 10: Hike to Ramze (4480m)

Hike towards Yalung glacier for wonderful majestic view of Kabru, Rathong and Kokthan peaks in Singalila range, beautiful view of a frozen lake and Yalung glacier. We camp in Ramze close to Yalung glacier.

 

Day 11: Explore Ramze and Oktang

Day hike to Oktang and explore wonderful Yalung and Kumbhakarna glacial valley with exciting majestic views of Yalung Kang, 3 peaks of Kanchenjungha over 8000m, Talung, Kabru and Rathong.

 

Day 12: Hike to Mirgin La (4660m)

Hike down to Lapsang settlement then we head towards Ghuna via Mirgin La. We see beautiful view of Kumbhakarna Himal from Mirgin La zone and camp beyond the pass.

 

Day 13: Hike to Ghunsa (3470m)

Hike down to Lamba Sumba Kharka, observe outstanding view of Kumbhakarna southface then hike continue to Ghunsa; Tibetan cultured village. Here, you can have Tongba; home made millet beer.

 

Day 14: Hike to Kambachen (4035m)

Gentle hike to Rampuk Kharka through beautiful forests of pine and rhodendron, have lunch then hike continue to traditional summer village of Khambachen; wthe wonderful view point of Kambhakarna Himal. We camp here.

 

Day 15: Hike to Lhonak (4780m)

Hike to Ramtang, have lunch then hike continue to Lhonak along Kanchenjungha glacier with great view of several peaks in the surrounding.

 

Day 16: Hike to Pangpema (5140m)

Hike up to the ultimate destination Pangpema to have unique lifetime experience of the Himalayan kingdom. This is the uppermost and last camp of the exciting trek lying just northern side of Kanchenjungha massif.

 

Day 17: Explore Kanchenjungha massif

Explore the Himalayan paradise Kanchenjungha massif with many sky soaring peaks including Nepal and Pyramid peak, hanging icefalls, abundant glaciers and magical geomorphology. We enjoy splendid 3600 Himalaya panorama.

 

Day 18-19: Hike back to Ghunsa

Hike back to Ghunsa on the same way.

 

Day20: Hike to Kyapra Tang (2290m)

Hike down along narrow Ghunsa Khola towards Tamur valley through beautiful forests of rhododendron, birch and oak.

 

Day 21: Hike to Lelep (1535m)

Hike down to Tamur valley and camp in Lelep

 

Day 22: Drive to Taplejung, Suketar (2290m)

Drive to Taplejung Suketar airport through landslides, cascades, lakes, forests, beautiful traditional villages, terraced farmlands where we see traditional mountain building architecture, Limbu tribal people and their typical lifestyle. Have lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 23: Fly back to Kathmandu, hotel

Fly back to Kathmandu. On the way to hotel, visit one of the most interesting cultural heritage sites- Lord Pashupatinath Temple premises where we see many devotees of Lord Shiv around the main temple, hundreds of lingums representing lord Shiv and goddess Parvati, cremations along the holy Bagmati river, many temples, colorful Babas; the spiritual teacher and Hindu sage strong devotees of Lord Shiv, red monkeys and many more interesting things. Drive back to hotel. Have lunch, relax and shopping in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 24: Cultural heritage site tour in Kathmandu valley, hotel

The day is dedicated to explore the medieval era artistic cities of Bhaktapur and Patan where we see very interesting and age old temples, stupas, palaces, bells, statues, clay dung plastered traditional colorful houses, traditional water well and fountains, traditional artwork of metal, wood, clay and paper. We will also see there classic culture and typical lifestyle of Newar tribe. We will have typical Nepal lunch in Raniban with host family. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight.

 

Day 25: Fly back home or open for next program

Have breakfast, program over, time for next program or transfer to airport, fly back home.

 

Detailed Trip Cost

Entire trip cost per person (USD): $4699 (including restricted area permit)  // 1pax complimentary for above 10 paid guests group

 

Trip cost includes:
All accommodation (twin sharing basis) & food; three meals a day -breakfast, lunch and dinner (except bar bill), insured crew (guide, porters, donkeys, dzopa, yaks and necessary kitchen crew for camping trek), all essential permits, all domestic transportation as per the itinerary, service charge and government taxes.

Trip cost does not include:
Personal expenses (like laundry, communication, alcohol, cold drinks and bottled water during trekking), gratuity to serving crew, emergency evacuation, international airfare, visa, your travel insurance and any kind of gifts and donation.

Payment system

  • 80% of total trip budget must be paid in advance (the amount should be appeared to our account just two weeks before the trips) for domestic transportation, permits, hotel bookings reconfirmation and essential preparations.
  • Balance can be paid before or during/after the trip.

Refund system
In case of trip cancellation in the last 10 days of group arrival, 50% of the deposited amount will be deducted. If the trip cancels 10 days before the group arrival, we settle the full amount in next trip.
