Things to bring with you for trekking and tented camp trip in Nepal

Nepal is a mountainous tropical country, which means it experiences climatic extremes. Night and day temperature differences can vary between 60C and 300C (430F to 860F) so you need to be prepared with a variety of clothing. The key to staying comfortable on a trek is layering. Suggested items to bring include:
• Boots - the single most important item to pack- comfortable, sturdy hiking boots
• Sleeping bag (easy to rent in Nepal) - needed for both camping and teahouse treks as teahouses usuallyprovide blankets. Better to have your own sleeping bag for your comfort.
• Backpack for porter to carry your belongings in (easy to rent in Nepal)
• Lightweight shoes or sandals for changing into at night
• Socks - 2 pairs outer socks, one pair liner socks and one pair for nighttime
• Loose cotton trouser/Calf length skirt
• T-shirts/long sleeved shirt
• Cozy shirt for the evenings
• Thermal underclothes are a necessity
• Warm lightweight sweater/fleece
• Hat (sun and night), Gloves or Mittens, Scarf
• Lightweight Wind Jacket (optional)
• Rain gear- a simple plastic poncho is adequate for most seasons.
• Down Jacket - depending on trek and season (easy to rent in Nepal)
• Day pack to carry your important documents, water bottles, power bars, imp medicines etc
• Water bottle with carry strap, water purification- filter/Iodine
• Sunglasses, Sunscreen, chap-stick, moisture cream for your skin, and lips
• Quick dry towel
• Flash light for midnight toilet trips and power-cuts (good batteries, rechargeable batteries)
• Hiking pole/s if needs
• First Aid Kit – essentials, however we provide basic common kits
• Camera, spare batteries, rechargeable batteries, film if needed
• Smartphone, mobile phone network is available in most places.
• A satellite phone in a group where mobile phone has no network
• Walkie talkie in big group for internal communication

Important note:
For the safety reason, porters carry light loads. Max. weight of your belongings to be carried by a porter is 20kg.

Green note:
Use rechargeable batteries whenever possible. If you must use disposable batteries, please take the used ones with you to dispose of safely in your home country.

Tip: power bars will help get you up those hills.

Many of the above items can be purchased or rented in Nepal.

Maximum baggage weight per passenger on domestic flights for the mountain sectors
Maximum 15kg load is allowed including hand carry. If the total weight in the plane is below its carrying limit, you can take additional luggage by paying charge. If there is load as per the aircarft’s carrying capacity, then you can not take excess baggage. In such situation, the excess baggage is sent in the later flights of the same aircraft or in another airlines.You may not get them on time. So, it is suggested to bring your luggage within the load limit.

• Camera with rechargeable batteries, film if needed
• Smartphone, mobile phone network is available in most places.
